Credaro Estate is proud to announce that our 2025 1000 Crowns Chardonnay has been awarded 98 points and a Gold Medal at the 2026 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
"This is fantastic recognition of the quality and character of this wine, as well as the quality of fruit coming from our Kyella Vineyard," Credaro's Chief Winemaker, Cliff Royle, said.
"Having been planted in 1987, the Chardonnay vines are now at an age where we're seeing a level of maturity, balance and complexity to the fruit that is incredibly special.
"The 2025 1000 Crowns Chardonnay is a great expression of what these vines can produce. The fruit has wonderful natural concentration and intensity, while retaining the freshness, acidity and elegance that are hallmarks of Margaret River Chardonnay."
The finest Chardonnay fruit parcels come from our premium Kyella Vineyard in Wilyabrup. The fruit is all hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed in the cool of the early morning, with wild fermentation occurring naturally.
Layered and complex, our 2025 flagship Chardonnay showcases classic Margaret River citrus, stone fruits, and pear drop at its core. The wild ferment contributes a lovely sulphide-driven phenolic complexity, which supports the fruit core perfectly, yet retains an underlying purity with a long, lingering finish.
Kyella Vineyard
Located in the heart of Wilyabrup - one of Margaret River's most respected sub-regions - our Kyella Vineyard (pictured) is home to some of Credaro's most expressive wines.
Its north-west facing slope, Forest Grove gravelly loam soils, and carefully managed vineyard blocks create the foundation for our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah with depth, structure and a clear sense of place.
Planted in 1987, the mature vines have developed deep-rooted balance and resilience, allowing them to consistently produce fruit with remarkable concentration, intensity and complexity.
The combination of vine age, careful vineyard management and the unique maritime influence of Margaret River gives the fruit a distinctive sense of place.
