Credaro Family Estate is proud to announce that our 1000 Crowns Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 has been awarded the prestigious Alan Cook MBE Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon at the 2025 Royal Queensland Wine Awards.
Judged by a panel of esteemed wine experts from across Australia and led by Deep Woods’ Julian Langworthy, our Cabernet stood out as the finest in show.
"Margaret River is celebrated for its Chardonnay and Cabernet, so to receive this recognition is incredibly rewarding," Chief Winemaker Matt Godfrey said.
“This award is a testament to the dedication and passion of our entire team at Credaro Estate. It’s a true team effort, and I’m thrilled to accept it on everyone’s behalf.”
The fruit for our flagship 1000 Crowns range is sourced exclusively from our Kyella vineyard in the heart of Wilyabrup. This north-facing site, with its ideal soil profile, consistently delivers exceptional Cabernet fruit vintage after vintage.
“Our vines are now at an age where they’re producing outstanding fruit, and we’re excited about what the future holds for Kyella over the next decade and beyond,” Godfrey added.
The 2023 vintage of 1000 Crowns Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a refined, elegant structure with vibrant blue fruit characters. The extended, cool ripening season allowed the Cabernet to fully express its varietal charm and regional identity.
This latest accolade adds to the growing recognition of the 1000 Crowns Cabernet Sauvignon 2023.
